Tyser selects KCenter for Workflow

June 1, 2011

Tysers, the International Insurance and Reinsurance Brokers, have chosen Kcenter from KnowledgeCenter as its Workflow platform.

Tysers is undertaking a major business transformation project, "The Tysers Way", which is focussing on improving the effectiveness of all major operational areas. The need for greater control and efficiency in the mainline business processes was identified as a major objective of The Tysers Way project with workflow technology identified as being a significant contributor.

The Tysers Way vision requires highly-integrated processes to promote the highest levels of efficiency, best practice and compliance. KnowledgeCenter Workflow was selected to obtain the benefits of the proven and mature workflow products.

The style of processes requires tight integration between the Kcenter Workflow, Tysers' Broking system (IMPACT, supplied by Capita Software) and Tysers' Document Management System (Content Server 2010, supplied by TIW).

The interface designs resulted in the creation of a configurable "toolkit" of integration capability that Tysers Business Analysts will use in conjunction with the Kcenter workflow product.

Starting with Claims processes, Tysers will be using this capability to implement workflow throughout the organisation.

Tysers is a Lloyd’s broker, based at the heart of the world’s leading insurance market in London; employing some 210 people; handling around $700 million of annual premiums ; and working with leading insurance markets worldwide to deliver risk solutions to a global client base.

KnowledgeCenter MD climbs Mount Kilimanjaro

June 21, 2010

KnowledgeCenter's MD, Kevin Osborn, joined by David Barnes, chair of the RPA, in the challenge of a lifetime and climbed Africa's highest mountain, the legendary Mount Kilimanjaro.

The AXA Wealth Kilimanjaro Challenge 2011 was taken by around 40 people, including England hooker Mark Regan and Catlin's Matt Newman.

Reaching the summit was well worth the week long, arduous climb; Mt Kilimanjaro is one not to be underestimated as the effects of climbing at altitude ensure that no person is certain of reaching the summit.

The AXA Wealth Kilimanjaro challenge 2011 raised money to support three charities: Help for Heroes, The Rugby Players' Association Benevolent Fund and the RFU Injured Players Foundation. Climbers also worked hard to support their chosen charity; Kevin Osborn, Mark Regan and Matt Newman also raised funds for Children's Hospice South West, a charity that provides hospice care for ill-limited children and their families from across the South West of England.
